Revival at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Jan. 21-Jan. 24 There will be a revival at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, next to Acadian Baptist Center, Jan. 21 through Jan. 24. The “Let It Begin In Me” revival will feature guest speaker Jason Towley and music by The Macky Willis Family.

Sheriff to have coffee session Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson is inviting everyone to “Coffee with the Sheriff” at 8 a.m. Saturday, at the Rice Palace Restaurant in Crowley. The sheriff will have a question and answer session during the event for residents.

ELTL spring registration begins Monday The Eunice Ladies Tennis League spring registration will begin Monday at Eunice City Hall from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Registration will end on Jan. 19. Dues are $25 and includes 12 weeks of play and an-end-of-season tennis banquet.

Street overlay project talked by council committee

CROWLEY - Earlier this week the Crowley City Council committee meeting started with the exciting news of a citywide street program. However, the project is still in the planning stages and it will take approximately two to six months for the initial inventory to be completed.

Mercy Regional Medical, Acadian Medical centers earn top quality rating

EUNICE —In the latest round of Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings released by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Mercy Regional Medical Center and it’s Eunice campus, Acadian Medical Center, have been awarded a top 5-star rating.

Triple murderer to be set free

The emotions seemed as fresh and raw as they must have been in 1988 when Chad Young murdered his father, mother and brother, but this time Young was given a hearing in May and is to be set free in 2020.

Powerball ticket puts Eunice on the map

The morning of Oct. 26 opened with one of the great mysteries to unfold in Eunice. Who bought that $191.1 million Powerball ticket at Brownie’s convenience store at 150 W. Maple Ave.? The win was a record in Louisiana. The odds to win are one in 292.2 million.
