LSU Eunice, in partnership with the Louisiana National Guard, will host free COVID-19 testing on select days through Sept. 23 at the Acadian Center.
There’s no guarantee, but smaller may be safer and that may be a good thing for LSUE as it starts the fall semester on Aug. 24.
LSU Eunice has selected Dr. John Hamlin as its new vice chancellor for academic affairs, pending approval at the next LSU Board of Supervisors meeting on May 22.
LSUE will hold a summer session and plans are moving forward for fall session.
While classes have moved online for the current session, the summer session is usually about 80% online, Chancellor Nancee Sorenson said.
LSUE will receive $2 million from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
Chancellor Nancee Sorenson announced the funding at a meeting called by state Rep. Phillip DeVillier at LSUE on Wednesday.
There is probably no better friend of LSUE than Mary Werner, chairwoman of the LSU Board of Supervisors.
Werner is a frequent visitor to the campus for its major moments such as graduations, which is canceled this spring.
The Louisiana Community and Technical College System announced that LSU Eunice would receive $162,000 from its Workforce Training Rapid Response Fund. The funding is in response to a grant request submitted by LSUE earlier this year.
The fall-summer LSUE commencement with 157 graduates was the largest in its history.
After an undefeated season on the mound, LSU Eunice’s Dane Dixon has been named to the NJCAA Division II All-American first-team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
