A scholarship is planned for the longtime LSUE professor and administrator Dr. John L. Couvillion, who died March 15 at the age of 75. Couvillion’s obituary in The Eunice News stated, “Dr. Couvillion devoted his life to God, family and LSUE.

LSUE statement confirms softball team incident

An anonymous report of an incident involving the LSUE softball team was, in part, confirmed in a statement from Van Reed, LSUE director of public relations. ”LSU Eunice has been made aware of an incident involving members of the Lady Bengal Softball team at an off-campus location.

LSUE earns praise as board meets on campus

The LSU Board of Supervisors met Friday on the LSUE campus possibly for the first time since 2005. Stephen Perry, board member, who said he had never been to the campus, called the visit an eye-opener.

LSU Eunice’s Student Government Association will host a forum for the candidates in the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals Judge’s race at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the auditorium of the Health Technology Building on the LSU Eunice campus.

LSUE reports 20% enrollment growth for spring semester

LSU Eunice is reporting a second straight semester of double-digit growth in enrollment. Spring 2017 headcount is 2,924, a 20 percent increase of 478 students over last spring. The largest area of increase came from dual enrollment students.
