Maple Avenue project is underway

Work on La. 91 — Maple Avenue — is now in its second week after starting Oct. 6. The project on the main thoroughfare in Eunice has been years in the making, but even after contractor Prairie Construction of Opelousas was selected in February the start was stymied by weather.

Aldermen convene for rare special meeting

The Eunice Boad of Aldermen met Friday for rare special meeting to pass a resolution clearing up lines of authority concerning civil service employees. Mayor Scott Fontenot called the meeting and every Board member was present to approve the resolution.
