Arnaudville stockman pleads guilty to stealing COVID money

An Arnaudville stockman has pleaded guilty to receiving over $70,000 in COVID-19 losses from the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP).
Burnell Gabriel Zachary, 37, of Arnaudville, made the plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carol Whitehurst, according to a news release from acting U.S.

The crowd at Fall Into Downtown seemed to be steadily build after starting at 5:30 p.m. The success of Fall Into Downtown was “unreal,” said Alicia Mire, the city’s Main Street director. There are estimates the crowd numbered at least 1,000 people, she said.

Municipal trash pickup moving to once-a-week

Trash collection in St. Landry Parish’s municipalities will be done weekly instead of twice-weekly a year from now.
Rural residents have always had once-weekly trash pickup since the late 1980s when the St. Landry Parish Solid Waste Commission organized the service.
