LSUE grants nearly $4M in COVID student relief

LSUE has paid students nearly $4 million in COVID relief funds over six installments. The latest disbursement of Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund was $1.88 million, according to a news release from LSUE. There were 2,432 eligible students as of Oct. 7. The maximum award was $1,000.

Computer tech class at LSUE is more than bits

Computer information technology classes at LSUE are teaching the electronic basics that can drive everything from games to cybersecurity.

Early voting continues Monday

Masks in St. Landry Parish public schools optional

Following Gov. John Bel Edwards lifting the statewide mask mandate, the St. Landry Parish School Board announced face-coverings will be optional except on buses. The parish mask ruling is effective Monday. The parish school mask ruling includes staff, students and visitors.
