Port Barre woman killed in U.S. 190 2-vehicle wreck

A crash on U.S. 190 on Wednesday claimed the life 25-year-old Marissa Richard of Port Barre. According to a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release, the wreck occurred near U.S. 190 intersection with Oakview Lane at about 7 a.m.

Eunice Police report stabbing

Eunice Police responded to a stabbing incident on the 1700 block of West Dudley Street just after 8 p.m. Wednesday. Officers determined that a female victim had been stabbed in the chest area by another female. The suspect female had departed the residence prior to officers’ arrival on scene.

State Fire Marshal (SFM) deputies arrested a Ville Platte man on Aug. 1 for setting fire to a unit at an elderly and disabled senior living apartment complex in Ville Platte. William McBride, 56, has been charged with aggravated arson. Shortly before 9 a.m.
