Frank Lawrence Messina

Frank Lawrence Messina passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at the age of 78. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur with Father Jay Alexius Celebrant.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Tuesday, Aug. 5 Jarlen Don Richard, 21, 6700 block of Cheval Drive, Lake Charles. Aggravated assault, attempted first degree murder (3 counts).

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Chapel in Crowley for Monte William Hoffpauer, 64, who passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at 12:46 a.m. at Calcutta House in Lafayette. Rev. Christie Brammer will officiate the service.
