Total St. Landry Parish sales collections through August of $67,703,016 were down 1.9% compared to the same period in 2024, according statistics released by the St. Landry Parish School Board tax division on Monday. The parish collections through August in 2024 totaled $68,982,133.

Hundreds of seniors gathered at the VFW Post 8971 Hall Wednesday for a TRIAD workshop, sponsored by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office. There were about 20 different senior citizen’s based vendors on site. Seniors enjoyed Bingo, door prizes, and a free lunch of barbecue chicken and the trimmings. (Photo by Myra Miller)
