It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Betty Stahl Strachan announces her passing on Saturday, June 6, 2020 in the comfort of her home with loving family by her side. She was 71. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Assistance available for energy bills

Budget is on city’s agenda

Amending the current budget and adopting a budget for the 2020-2021 year are on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Board of Aldermen. The Board is also to consider a proposal to make Walnut Avenue one-way from 2nd to 3rd streets. The traffic flow would be east, if approved.

Council OKs seeking coronavirus money

The St. Landry Parish Council approved applying for up to $2.3 million in reimbursement for expenses directly related to the coronavirus. In a teleconference meeting, Amanda Cain, finance director and acting administrator, said parish government won’t have $2.
