Solar panels stolen from Mowata house

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the felony theft of solar panels from the 29000 block of Crowley Eunice Highway in the community of Mowata. The theft occurred between 5 p.m. Jan. 7 and 3:30 p.m. Jan. 8.

Bomb threatened at Eunice High School

There was a heavy police presence at Eunice High School Wednesday morning following a bomb threat Tuesday afternoon on Instagram, a social media website. Two K9 units were employed to search the school Tuesday evening, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
