Louisiana state income tax filing begins Monday

The Louisiana Department of Revenue will begin accepting 2019 state individual income tax returns on Monday. The date coincides with the date the IRS begins accepting 2019 federal income tax returns.

Blood drive to support plane crash victim A blood drive is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the St. Ann Catholic Church, 716 Sixth St., Mamou, in support Wade Berzas who was injured in the December plane crash in Lafayette. Call 337-470-2733 to schedule an appointment.

CDC study shows physical inactivity high among Louisiana adults

Maps released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that Louisiana is one of seven states with the highest prevalence of physical inactivity among adults. The findings indicate that more than 15% of adults in every state are inactive.

Acadian Cultural Center hosts exhibit by artist Clair Decker

The Acadian Cultural Center of Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve presents an art exhibit featuring the work of artist Claire Decker titled “A Peek at Claire Decker’s Art World.”  The exhibit is on display now through Jan. 29. Admission to the exhibit and to the center is free.
