The St. Landry Parish LEAP scores in math and science improved in the 2025 tests compared to scores in 2024. The Louisiana Department of Education released the LEAP scores on July 3 showing statewide students improved in math scores while English results were unchanged from 2024.

Fifty-eight years. That’s how long ago it’s been since Brother Jimmy Swaggart’s father, also a minister, came into my small Ferriday law office where I was a sole practitioner, and asked me to incorporate his church.

The Eunice Community Concert Band & Choir will stage its summer concerts at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the First Baptist Church in Eunice. The choir is shown practicing at the church on Tuesday.
