The following are arrests by Eunice Police. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Thursday, July 3 Juvenile, 16, Eunice. Violation of protective order. Friday, July 4 Sherry Fontenot, 53, 100 block of Boudreaux, Eunice. Warrant for Ville Platte, 2 counts.

Conceal carry permit class set for July 12 The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a one-day concealed carry permit training class beginning at 7:30 a.m. July 12 at 211 W. Park Ave. in Eunice. The course is $100 and $80 for a spouse or renewal.

Rosemary Welch LaFleur

Rosemary Welch LaFleur passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025 at the age of 80. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025 at St. Anthony's with Father Hampton Davis Celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Mausoleum.

Driver charged in death of unidentified pedestrian in St. Landry Parish

On July 2, shortly before 10 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on La. 31 (Creswell Lane) near Pebble Road. This crash ultimately claimed the life of a pedestrian whose identity remains unknown.

Mamou man arrested for child porn

In June, the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP/SVU) began an investigation into the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, which resulted in the arrest of 18-year-old James O’Reily of Mamou.
