Mamou woman arrested in fatal hit-and-run

Kayla Ardoin, 39, of Mamou, has been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run crash that killed Errol Deville, 55, of Eunice, on June 25. Ardoin was arrested on July 1 by Louisiana State Police Troop I troopers. Ardoin is charged with felony hit-and-run driving.

SLIDELL — Chef Karlos Knott of The Cajun Saucer in Arnaudville is the 2025 King of Louisiana Seafood beating 11 other chefs to win the 18th Annual Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off presented by the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board.

St. Landry Parish woman awarded Farm Bureau honor

By Kristen Oaks-White Louisiana Farm Bureau NEW ORLEANS — A St. Landry Parish sugarcane and cattle producer is this year’s Louisiana Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Outstanding Young Farm Woman.

Green energy accords signed

Agreements with green energy providers were approved in a special St. Landry Parish Energy Board meeting on June 25 in Opelousas. The Energy Board is comprised of Parish Council members. Similar agreements were approved in Acadia Parish last week and on Monday.

Fourth of July fireworks show returns to Rec Complex
