St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. March 12 - 14 Eugene Curette, 31, 200 block of Marcel Street, Opelousas. Illegal window tint, resisting an officer, disturbing the peace and public intimidation. Arrested by Leonville Police.

Speed monitoring trailer deployed

The St. Landry sheriff’s office has purchased a speed monitoring trailer that surveys and helps determine where, and what time to put “boots/radars on the ground” on those particular roads for speed enforcement, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.

John Albert Guidry Sr. passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at the age of 74. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Burial will follow at Ashford Cemetery in Basile. Deacon Gary Gaudin will officiate.
