Calvin Manuel

Calvin Manuel, from Chataignier, passed away on Wednesday November 14 at the age of 75 after a prolonged illness. A service will be held on Saturday, December 15 at 10:00 am at Quirk and Son funeral home in Eunice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church for Chloe and her mother, Linsey, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at St. Paul Cemetery. Monsignor Robert Romero will officiate. A rosary will be prayed on Monday at 7:00 PM by Deacon Gary Gaudin.

Lindsey Brooke Carriere

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at 2:00 PM for Linsey Brooke Carriere, 31, and her daughter Chloe Marie Carriere age 6. Monsignor Robert Romero will officiate, burial to follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

Barry Blaine Gotreaux passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2018, at the age of 47. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at 1:00 PM. at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Burial will follow at Evangeline Memorial Cemetery in Ville Platte.

Toys for Tots drive is underway The annual Toys for Tots drive in Eunice is underway. The Eunice Fire Department, at the central station located at 100 Park Avenue, will accept application now until Nov. 30 each day from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

13 months in a row, Louisiana adds jobs again

Seasonally adjusted data released by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics shows that seasonally adjusted nonfarm employment increased by 19,400 jobs to 1,989,700 since October 2017. For the past 13 months, seasonally adjusted nonfarm jobs have posted over-the-year gains.
