Johnson elected to Republican leadership post

U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson, R-Benton has been elected chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) for the 116th Congress. The RSC membership voted via secret ballot during their meeting Friday. Currently composed of 150 members, the RSC is the largest caucus of conservatives in the Congress.

Arnaudville man sentenced to 90 years for child porn

U.S. Attorney David C. Joseph announced today that an Arnaudville man was sentenced to 90 years in prison for producing child pornography. Joseph Martin, 35, of Arnaudville, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Elizabeth E. Foote on three counts of production of child pornography.

La. 104 bridge is on DOTD project list

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced that 37 projects around the state were let on Nov. 14,. Twenty-three contractors presented apparent low bids totaling $110 million.
