In the recently released Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education College Rankings for 2019, LSU is ranked 85th among public universities and 352nd overall, a jump 91 spots over last year’s placement in the rankings.

UL Lafayette enrollment rises for fifth straight year

For the fifth consecutive year, a record number of students have enrolled at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. A total of 19,387 students registered for the Fall 2018 semester, up from the 19,291 who enrolled for Fall 2017.

Driggs honored

Ron Driggs, owner of Rehab Xcel, in Eunice, was inducted into the Louisiana Physical Therapy Hall of Fame in ceremonies on Aug. 25 in Baton Rouge. Driggs opened Rehab Xcel in 1972. He has been a longstanding member of the APTA since 1968.

Ville Platte couple receives Philanthropist of the Year honor

Mary Alice and Leonard Fontenot are the recipient of the 2018 Leaders In Philanthropy Award for Evangeline Parish, an honor presented by Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA) and Hancock Whitney Bank, and sponsored by CLECO. The Fontenots will be recognized during an awards luncheon on Nov.

Experience Louisiana Festival has a new direction

The Experience Louisiana Festival is returning for a fourth year at the LSUE Campus with a couple of major changes. The festival is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 20. For the first three years of the festival the event was held Saturday and Sunday.
