St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. May 16 Dustin Delane Pierce, 22, 400 block of Chesnut Street, Mamou. Simple burglary; theft of 4-wheeler. May 17 Jace Patrick Deshotels, 37, 15100 block of Hwy. 182, Bunkie.

Blood drives in Eunice, Opelousas The public is asked to donate blood at two events for the Our Lady of Lourdes Donor Center. The blood drives will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Delta Grand Theater, 120 Market St., Opelousas, and at the Eunice Municipal Complex, 300 S. 2nd St., Eunice.

Acadia Parish crash kills Rayne man

Shortly after 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a two vehicle fatality crash on La. 13 near Schultz Road in Acadia Parish. The crash took the life of 24-year-old Gregory Leger of Rayne.

Eunice High principal earns parish honor

The news in recent years at Eunice High School has been one of student progress. In May, the school was recognized as having an 87.1 percent graduation rate with the 2017 class. The graduation rate is one of the reasons the school’s principal, Mitchell Fontenot, is the St.

Toddler found on street, mom is in jail

A 2-year-old boy was found on the road at 200 E. Maple Ave. at 4:13 a.m. Wednesday and by 7 a.m. the 21-year-old mother was in Eunice Police custody.
