Joyce Guillory passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at the age of 70. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 1:00 PM. at St. Mathilda's Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Mathilda's Cemetery. Fr. Steven Ugwu will officiate.

LSUE releases list of spring graduates

The following is a list of spring graduates at Louisiana State University Eunice. Dr. Kayla Fontenot will be the commencement speaker when Louisiana State University Eunice holds fall graduation ceremonies at 10 a.m. Friday in the gymnasium of the Health and Physical Education Building.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. May 10 Lakisha Dawn Pool, 30, 200 block of Anna Street, Jennings. Unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and illegal possession of stolen things. Jordon W. Hebert, 31, 19100 block of Highway 182, Jennings. Simple criminal damage to property.

Eunice Players’ children’s auditions Auditions for the children’s summer play will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the theater (121 S. 2nd St.) in Eunice. Children and youth ages 8 to 17 are invited to participate. Exceptions may be made for other ages.

Aldermen vote to restore millage rates

Eunice aldermen voted to roll forward two millage rates — one for streets and the other for the general fund — at a meeting Tuesday. The millage rates were among ordinances presented at a public hearing prior to the Board of Aldermen meeting at City Hall.
