Garland Pierre Senegal Sr. passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the age of 82. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 11:00 AM. at St. Mathilda's Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Mathilda's Cemetery. Fr. Darren Eldrige will officiate.

Pre-kindergarten registration dates set All Eunice public schools will be have pre-kindergarten signup from Monday through May 18 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Children must be 4 years old by Sept. 30 in order to qualify for the pre-K program.

We the people of the city of Eunice want to express our concern for being denied the use of the Eunice Recreation Facility for organized sports. These organized sports teams are made up of Eunice kids.

Former Eunice associate pastor named parochial vicar

Bishop Douglas Deshotel of the Diocese of Lafayette has appointed the Rev. Nathan Comeaux to serve as the parochial vicar of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Lafayette. Comeaux is serving as pastor of Our Lady of the Lake and St. Martin De Porres Catholic Churches in Delcambre.

Prairie Acadian Cultural Center plans ‘Camp Bonjour’ Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve’s Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice is now accepting applications for “Camp Bonjour,” a week-long day camp for kids ages 6-8 and 9-12. The center is located at 250 W. Park Ave.

Gov. to ask for business tax increase, income tax cut

Gov. John Bel Edwards on Wednesday unveiled a far-reaching tax plan to fix a $1.2 billion fiscal precipice the state is approaching next year, calling for a striking departure from how businesses are currently taxed and cutting income taxes for most Louisiana residents.
