2 unrestrained men die in single vehicle fatal crash

Shortly after 3:30 a.m. Friday, troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I responded to a single vehicle fatality crash that occurred on Interstate 49 southbound near Washington. The crash claimed the life of the unidentified driver and passenger.

Acting U.S. Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook announced Tuesday that an Opelousas mail carrier pleaded guilty to stealing cell phones from mail. Tremayne Cluse, 24, of Arnaudville, pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carol Whitehurst to one count of theft of mail by a postal service employee.
