Eunice substation is not closing

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s substation in Eunice is not closing, Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said. Guidoz explained that four dispatchers who had worked at the station were transferred to the Opelousas office to save money. The move will allow one more patrol deputy at the station, he said.

Eunice man killed in crash

A crash in Acadia Parish at the intersection of La. 365 and 367 on Friday claimed the life of 38-year-old Joseph Devillier of Eunice, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I. The wreck, which occurred at about 6 a.m.
