Information sought about lawn equipment theft

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office and Lt. Damien Morgan come to Crime Stoppers and ask for help with a theft of lawn equipment. On June 20, 2024, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle theft and theft of lawn equipment at 367 Roxsan Road in Sunset.

Miller lands TV reporter position

She thought five years ago that she would become a nurse, but something happened that changed her mind. Layne Miller, a multi-media reporter for KLFY TV-10, was the guest speaker Wednesday at the Eunice Rotary Club meeting. Miller started her job at the news station in June 2024.

School Board approves reorganization plan

The St. Landry Parish School Board approved a reorganization plan on a 11-2 vote at a special meeting on Thursday. The only opposition to the plan during the meeting was voiced by those opposed to closing Washington Elementary School.

Keep Eunice Beautiful director asks for you help

Donna Baltakis, director of Keep Eunice Beautiful, touted the organization’s recent President’s Circle Award for 2024 from Keep American Beautiful at city council meeting. The volunteer group has won the award every year since its affiliation with Keep America Beautiful, she said.

Duo face porn charges involving juveniles

A duo face pornography charges involving juveniles after posting photos on FaceTime, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Detectives with the Juvenile Division received a report on Jan. 25 of improper behavior with a juvenile, he stated.
