DOTD update on latest state highway closures across Louisiana

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is providing an update on the latest weather-related closures on state routes throughout Louisiana. Motorists should keep in mind that conditions change rapidly and roadways may be closed suddenly if they’re unsafe for travel.

Curfew in Acadia Parish

Acadia Parish will have a curfew tonight from 6pm to 6am. We will address any further curfews tomorrow morning.

St. Landry Parish road crews assisting in clearing roads

St. Landry Parish Public Works crews are actively assisting with road cleanup efforts in several areas across the parish. Current cleanup locations include: • Eunice: Hwy 190 and Hwy 13 • Opelousas: Vine Street, Landry Street, Union Street, and Main Street • Sunset: Hwy 182

Ahead of Super Bowl, Landry to relocate unhoused people living near tourist areas

Louisiana state troopers began Monday notifying residents of a state-sanctioned unhoused encampment under the Pontchartrain Expressway that they will soon have to relocate, per an order from Gov. Jeff Landry.

GOP mega-donor’s Louisiana company pays $1M settlement for illegal workers

The family-owned company of President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign co-chair in Louisiana has agreed to pay $1.025 million to resolve allegations that it hired workers ineligible to work in the United States, the U.S. Department of Justice announced this week.
