Household hazardous waste to be collected

The St. Landry Parish Solid Waste Disposal District will hold its 2024 Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday at the recycling centers in Opelousas and Eunice. The Opelousas Recycling Center, located at 2717 W. Landry St. in Opelousas, will be open from 8 a.m. to noon.

Tri-Parish workforce down 241 in September

The Tri-Parish workforce drop by 241 people in September compared to September 2023, according to statistics released by the Louisiana Workforce Commission on Tuesday. The September workforce totaled 67,496, down from 67,737 in September 2023.

St. Landry Parish early vote up 8.8% over 4 years ago

Early voting in St. Landry Parish ended with an. 8.8% increase over the final tally in 2020 when another presidential race was on the ballot. The early vote count total was 14,775 on Tuesday, up 1,200 from 13,575 in November 2020.
