Parish budget fails to pass

A budget for 2023 for St. Landry Parish Government failed to pass at a special meeting Tuesday.
Six members voted for the budget and five against after nearly two hours of deliberations, mostly in public hearings.

Tri-Parish workforce up 1.6% from a year ago

The Tri-Parish workforce rose 1.6% or 1,077 to 68,003 in December compared to December 2021 when the workforce totaled 66,926.
The workforce includes those working and looking for a job. The statistics are not seasonally adjusted.
