FUMC holding annual pecan sale The First United Methodist Church is holding their annual pecan sale. Products such as plain pecans in halves and pieces are available in both 16 oz. at $12 and 3 lb. sizes at $30. Specialty pecans available include 16 oz.

Jonathan “Jon” Carl Shaw passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at the age of 44. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Father John Dugas officiating. His ashes will be interred in Frey Cemetery at a later date.

Savor the salvias before they’re gone

Early fall is when we say goodbye to most of the migratory hummingbirds that have been visiting our gardens since mid-summer. Even after they’ve left us to fly south for the winter, we can continue to savor the beauty of some of the flowers that fed them.
