Eunice murderer denied appeal

A Eunice man convicted of a Nov. 4, 2019, murder will continue to serve his 35-year sentence at hard labor after his appeal was denied by the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal. Demyron L. Skinner was convicted of manslaughter in the killing of De’Omane Frank. Skinner was sentenced on April 27, 2023.

Bill eases penalties for paraphernalia

he Louisiana Senate on Tuesday approved an amended version of a House bill that would decriminalize the possession and use of drug paraphernalia, such as pipes and bongs, by making it a civil offense punishable by a fine but no jail time.
