Eunice police officer seeks back pay

A hearing in response to a writ of mandamus filed for Eunice Police Officer Stephanie Myers is scheduled Monday. The action filed by her attorney, William Goode, of Lafayette, asked that Myers be promoted to sergeant with full back pay from Sept. 13, 2022.

A study commissioned by the Louisiana Partnership for Children and Families shows that Postpartum Depression (PPD), a condition affecting about 7,500 mothers in Louisiana, costs the state economy an estimated $280 million over a five-year period.

A little more than two years ago, elected officials, community leaders and volunteer groups descended on a borrow pit and wetlands area at the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden for a press conference calling attention to the problem of litter. The scene then was much different than it is now.
