Eunice Symphony Orchestra concert set The Eunice Symphony Orchestra present “Broadway on the Bayou,” an evening of music from Broadway musicals. The concert will be at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at Eunice High auditorium. Tickets are $5 for adults and children ages 6 and under are admitted free of charge.

UL Lafayette confers 1,126 degrees during Fall 2023 commencement

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette celebrated its Fall 2023 graduates during Commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday. A total of 1,126 degrees were conferred. Individual Commencement ceremonies for UL Lafayette’s eight academic colleges were held at the Cajundome and Convention Center.

More than 200 graduate at LSUE

Jesus and his parents were not migrants going to Bethlehem

Around this time of year, I start seeing posts on social media about how Jesus was a refugee, an asylum seeker, an immigrant, etc. It’s based upon a version of the Nativity story, where the Holy Family was forced to “flee” to Bethlehem to avoid persecution.

Movie memories at Christmas time!

I don’t know about you, but I’m a real movie buff. I have always really liked going to the movies.

Edwards won’t switch parties

Outgoing Gov. John Bel Edwards is a conservative, Southern Democrat who some have speculated might have been better served if he had been willing to switch parties. Edwards angered many Democrats when he signed one of the strictest state abortion bans in the country.
