Photographers! Get It Growing calendar entries are being sought

This mapping system categorizes geographic regions according to their average annual minimum winter temperatures. The map helps by assisting gardeners, horticulturists and landscaping experts in choosing plants suited to specific climates. The USDA Hardiness Zone Map has a history dating back several decades, and it has undergone multiple revisions

A field fire occurred in an area off of La. 370 and Maggie Lane northwest of Church Point. Dusty Edwards, Richard Volunteer Fire Department chief, said the fire was reported at 11:38 a.m. and was under control by about 2 p.m. About 30 acres was burned when winds spread a brush pile fire. After fire-fighting units and personnel from Eunice to Cankton, and Church Point to Fire District 3 joined in stopping the fire, a bulldozer was called in from E. B.
