Katina Dawn Babineaux Ardoin passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the age of 50. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile with Father Keenan Brown Celebrant.

LAKE CHARLES — McNeese State University honor students were recognized at fall commencement ceremonies held Dec. 10 in Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette celebrated its Fall 2021 graduates during Commencement ceremonies Dec. 17 and 18, where a total of 1,303 degrees was conferred.
NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University awarded 662 degrees to 656 graduates during Fall 2021 Commencement exercises with four ceremonies held over two days, Dec. 15-16. NSU also awarded 412 degrees to 409 Summer 2021 graduates.

Highland fundraiser winners named. Highland Elementary recently held a candy bar fundraiser. Students sold as many candy bars as they could with four students named as top sellers.
