Concealed Carry permit class Dec. 2 The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a one day concealed carry permit training class beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at 211 W. Park Ave., Eunice. The course fee is $100 and $8 for a spouse or renewal.

The following are excerpts from the Eunice Police Department radio dispatch logs. Tuesday, Nov. 14 12:48 a.m. 911 caller reported an active disturbance in the 300 block of West Bacciochi. 5:42 a.m. Caller said he is at the ATM at JD Bank and it appears to look like someone tried to pry it open.

Eunice Parish Council seat up for a vote Saturday

An election for the St. Landry Parish District 13 Council, which includes all of Eunice, is between Ernest Blanchard and Leward Lafleur in Saturday’s election. The election also includes a hotel occupancy tax with the proceeds to fund tourism.

LSUE partners to provide respiratory therapy training apprenticeship

LSU Eunice, Ochsner Lafayette General and Acadiana Workforce Solutions unveiled its Respiratory Therapy Apprenticeship Customized Training Program on Tuesday on the campus.

Bulk waste problem won’t go away

A problem with the removal of bulk waste from Eunice streets remains a problem and the issue was aired again at the Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday. “Our city has never looked like this before,” said Mayor Scott Fontenot about the roadside debris.
