Linton “Sonny” Joseph Rougeau, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the age of 80. A Funeral Service will be held at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022 with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

LPB to air two-part documentary about Louisiana history, culture

“Why Louisiana Ain’t Mississippi… Or Any Place Else!” That’s the apt name of Louisiana Public Broadcasting’s new, two-part documentary running next week that producers describe as a whirlwind tour of Louisiana’s history. Louisiana Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne inspired the program.

St Landry Crime Stoppers awarded

St. Landry Crime Stoppers program has been awarded top national awards for its work in helping law enforcement and the victims of crimes, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.

Voters to settle Eunice election Saturday

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday in an election that will settle the composition of the Eunice Board of Aldermen. Early voting for all of St. Landry Parish ended Dec. 3 with 2,412 votes cast. There 1,592 votes cast in person and 820 absentees.
