Reber is VFW’s state commander

Don Reber is state commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for the Department of Louisiana. He was sworn-in June 19 at the Louisiana State Convention held in Alexandria. Reber is the only VFW commander from Eunice to hold the title as a state commander.

Two Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s deputies were arrested for bringing contraband into the parish jail. An investigation began in May about drugs and contraband being introduced into the parish jail, according to a news release on the office’s website.
