The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Tuesday, Dec. 16 Jaylan Deontre Brown, 27, 600 block of Victoria Street, Monroe. Simple burglary, purse snatching. Arrested by Eunice Police.

Darrell Joseph Dies

Darrell Joseph Dies passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at the age of 79. A Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 18. 2025 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Father Sam Fontana officiating. Burial will follow in St. Thomas More Cemetery.

Gwendolyn Chaumont Fontenot

Gwendolyn Chaumont Fontenot, age 82, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Keenan Brown Celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Augustine Mausoleum.
