EUNICE–On Saturday, May 7, 2022, Donald Fontenot, a brother, uncle and friend passed away at Eunice Manor at the age of 72. A Celebration of Donald’s life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice. Burial will follow in the New St.

Juvenile justice with focus on therapy questioned

Michele Piazza’s face swelled up with bruises. Her leg was broken in more than one place. She was beaten so severely that a year after the attack on her, she continues to have physical and mental health challenges. Piazza has worked in prisons and secure care facilities for 18 years.

School closures left off agenda, but draws an energetic crowd

For two weeks the St. Landry Parish School Board has discussed consolidating and closing schools, but Thursday the issue was left off the agenda.
