The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. November 24-29 Joseph Curtis Stelly, 42, 2400 block of Powers Street, Opelousas. Possession of Schedule II CDS. Arrested by Louisiana State Probation and Parole.

Norvil Henry Mosbroker, Sr.

Norvil Henry Mosbroker, Sr. passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the age of 76. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Basile with Reverend Gordon Scoggan officiating. Burial will follow in First Baptist Cemetery of Basile.

5-year-old killed in ATV wreck

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz has confirmed that at 4:43 p.m. Nov. 28, 911 received a call from female stating her husband and 5-year-old juvenile child wrecked while riding a side by side ATV in a field. The wreck occurred near Raider and Frilot Cove Road in the Frilot Cove area.

Annual public ‘Road Show’ set for Acadiana Region on Dec. 7

A crash involving a pedestrian on Interstate 49 Frontage Road near Turf Lane in St. Landry Parish claimed the life of 52-year old Wallace A. Trahan, Jr. of Duson.

Eunice Parade of Lights set Dec. 16 The Eunice Parade of Lights (Eunice Christmas Parade) is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16. The route will begin at North 2nd St. near The Flower House and will conclude at Eunice Jr. High School. Every float, trailer will be decked with Christmas lights.
