The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Enforcement Division is encouraging all boaters to practice safe boating while enjoying the waterways of Louisiana. This notice comes after three people have died in boating accidents in 2021.

Port Barre kayker who died identified

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents are investigating a boating fatality that occurred in St. Landry Parish on Jan. 18. The body of Thomas Godeaux, 50, of Port Barre, was recovered from the Old Courtableau waterway around 3:40 p.m. Monday.
