Shooting victim found on road dies

Eunice Police were called to the 200 block of Hill Street in reference to a shooting at about 3 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from Police Chief Kyle LeBouef. Upon arrival, officers discovered one male victim lying in the roadway near a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

A man described as a significant narcotics dealer was arrested in connection with the contraband smuggling case involving a St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s corrections officer, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
