The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Tuesday, Oct. 8 Dustin Charles Walker, 33, 100 block of Cottonwood Street, Krotz Springs.

Monday, Oct. 7 4:36 a.m. Caller in the 200 block of Verbena said her caregiver is being verbally abusive and she does not feel safe. 7:05 a.m. Caller in the 1000 block of Samuel reported a four wheeler on the roadway.

Shooting victim found on road dies

Eunice Police were called to the 200 block of Hill Street in reference to a shooting at about 3 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from Police Chief Kyle LeBouef. Upon arrival, officers discovered one male victim lying in the roadway near a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

A man described as a significant narcotics dealer was arrested in connection with the contraband smuggling case involving a St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s corrections officer, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
