Sheriff says man ran over relative and then attacked with a fence post

A disturbance involving family members on May 2 has led to attempted murder charges being filed, according to a news release from Acadia Parish KP Gibson. During a disturbance, the suspect intentionally struck the family member with his vehicle, causing the victim to roll over the vehicle.

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an attempted burglary that occurred in the 8300 block of Eunice Iota Highway near Eunice the evening of April 23, according to Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish.

Tips sought in shooting death of parish corrections officer

Opelousas Police Detective Mike Hidalgo is asking the public’s help help in solving a murder in the city of Opelousas. Opelousas Police responded to shots being fired on the 1100 block of Park Avenue and located multiple shell casings at the scene.
