Carjacking suspect identified

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a carjacking and attempted second-degree murder that occurred at about 11 p.m. March 11. The victim in this case was asked to give the suspect a ride to a residence on Nation Road near Rayne.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Thursday, March 14 Issiah Placide, 24, 100 block of Cotton Street, New Iberia. Domestic abuse battery (child endangerment) (3 counts), simple assault, criminal mischief, possession of Schedule I CDS.

BATON ROUGE — Louisiana State Police announced the graduation of its 103rd Cadet Class, as 33 cadets have completed their journey to becoming a Louisiana State trooper on March 8.
