The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Saturday, Dec. 9-Monday, Dec. 11 Kenjelskey Kendrell Jones, 28, 200 block of W. Coleman Street, Opelousas.

Melee at Kim’s Market ends with shooting, one wounded

A melee at Kim’s Market at about 6 p.m. Thursday ended with a gunfight, which apparently wounded one male. Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef stated Friday morning in an email that the investigation was continuing into the incident that happened at the 611 E. Laurel Ave. business.

Pedestrian killed on Interstate 10 in Acadia Parish crash

Louisiana State Police Troop I responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the westbound lane of I-10 west of Crowley near mile marker 79 shortly before 3 a.m. Monday. The pedestrian has been identified as 44-year-old David Valladares of San Benito, Texas.

Lafayette firearms store owner, wife found guilty on federal charges

U.S. Attorney Brandon B. Brown announced that two individuals from Broussard have been found guilty on all counts after a jury trial that began in federal court on Nov. 27 and ended Nov. 30.
