The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Friday, Dec. 1 Seth M. Heintz, 18, 100 block of Toly Hoe Drive, Lafayette. Simple burglary of a vehicle (4 counts). Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
A field fire occurred in an area off of La. 370 and Maggie Lane northwest of Church Point. Dusty Edwards, Richard Volunteer Fire Department chief, said the fire was reported at 11:38 a.m. and was under control by about 2 p.m. About 30 acres was burned when winds spread a brush pile fire. After fire-fighting units and personnel from Eunice to Cankton, and Church Point to Fire District 3 joined in stopping the fire, a bulldozer was called in from E. B. Feucht to complete the job, Edwards said. Edwards caution
