Opelousas man indicted for rape

According to St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre, a Grand Jury on Tuesday returned a four-count indictment against Kenneth Paul Rene, 43, of Opelousas, for the aggravated rape and first-degree rape of his victims. Rene is accused of sexually abusing these victims between 2015 and 2021.

Man found dead in Monday shooting in Eunice area

St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are working a fatal shooting that occurred in the Eunice area, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. At 9:30 p.m. Monday deputies responded to the intersection of La. 29 and North St. Mary Street in the Eunice area after reports of a shooting.

Eunice Police make arrest in drive-by shooting Kayden Mykal Guillory, 19, of Eunice was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a drive-by shooting in the 200 block of North Vivian on Feb. 23. Guillory, is of the 1300 block of Darrell Street, Eunice.
