Sheriff says 2 caught in the act

Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson says aggressive patrol by deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has paid off again. Gibson, in a news release, stated deputies caught two individuals preparing to steal a catalytic converter from a disable vehicle.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. May 14-16 Mark Stevens, Jr., 37, 100 block of Plantation Road, Opelousas. Window tint violation, no seat belt, felon in possession of a firearm. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Wendall Joseph Murphy, Jr.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. May 13 Dustin Lance Perron, 32, 500 block of Aldes Road, Opelousas. Bench warrant. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Shantell Forbes, 42, 200 block of Rue Basin, Carencro. Monetary instrument abuse.

Sheriff announces 2nd major operation

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz announced a second major operation to targeting criminal activity. A four-month undercover investigation resulted in 34 arrests, the seizure of 36 guns, four vehicles, and illegal drugs valued at $75,000, he stated in a news release on May 10.

Suspect in Eunice shooting sought

St. Landry Crime Stoppers and Eunice Police need help in locating a suspect wanted on attempted murder charges.  On May 4, just after 10 p.m., Eunice Police responded to a call of someone being shot in the 200 block of Acadia Street.
