Dispute over meth lands man in jail

A domestic dispute over who smoked the meth in the house ended with a Eunice man facing charges. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of McKenzie at about 4 p.m. Wednesday about a male with a gun shooting several rounds in the residence.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. March 11 Ryan Anthony Blanchard, 36, 1000 block of Samuel Drive, Eunice. Bench warrant (3 counts). Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Rodney Darjean, II, 43, 1000 block of Montgomery Road, Opelousas.

Eunice man charged in fatal shooting

Justin Owens, of Eunice, is under arrest for the fatal shooting of Tjuan August on Feb. 15. According to a news release from Evangeline Parish Sheriff Charles Guillory, Owens was booked into the parish jail on a second-degree murder charge and his bail is set at $1 million.
